I want winter

It's been so hard to study lately. Not alot getting accomplished with so little time remaining. Rather hard to concentrate and focus. Not to mention my house's aircon got worse after servicing; it's not cold at all now. So many things distracting!

Didn't manage to go for Bay today, but dropped by for dinner. Just interacting with fellow partners in the gospel made me realise all the more how important fellowship is. No doubt I learnt a great deal of that while in UAE, being in Singapore and feeling this way is from a different angle. Oh, and no more da-paos from next week onwards =)

Been thinking about my future these past few days, from where my attachment will be at (hopefully at a big bank or company), to which uni I will be at (NTU offers a double degree for accountancy & business now!), to where I will work next time, to what I'll be doing and how much I earn. Where is God in all of these? He has to be the center. Still haven't reached a final conclusive answer about what I wanna pursue.

Don't you really wonder why things are this way or that way? How come certain stuff just doesn't seem right? Or some just think why is the earth round and is evolution true? I've come to terms that some questions might not really have an answer. BUT is that going to change my faith in God?

Took this from Casting Crown's "Love them like Jesus" and modified it abit -

You don't need the answers to all of life's questions. Just know that He loves YOU and will stay by YOUR side.

Isn't that so true? So even when you're going through something so difficult to comprehend and just wanna give up, remember who He is, and who you are.

Colossians 1:17
"He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

I put my trust in Jesus who is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. Where do you put yours?

there is hope

All my tutorials for this term is finally over, what's left are my mid-sems next wk. And of course, it's time to START studying. AA project should not exist! Takes away the joy of the 2 wk break. Someone even said today that becoz of the proj, can't have class bbq during the break?? lol. I'm so gonna die for fot and cra ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Went for physio on monday and it was heat treatment, literally felt my back being bbq-ed! Took a long bus ride back on 100 to Serangoon interchange. Managed to catch up on my reading! Hmm just realised that I've been eating by myself in coffeeshops more often lately because i'm either to lazy to da-pao home, or too hungry, or too sick of the food at my hse coffeeshop already. But tat is about to change when my mom comes back next wk! Yay!

I'm going to the airport at least 5 times next month, tats really alot! When i was younger, going to the airport was super rare and like a big occasion. Nowadays, its normal... lol.

Oh i saw this ad at the bus stop a few weeks ago, and it left an impression on me...

Maggi Mee - Best enjoyed without guilt.

Isn't this so true when it comes to sin also? Everytime we sin, we don't want to feel guilty until it is over. Pleasure in sin is short lived. And what happens after we sin? How does God feel towards us? Let's take a look at the time when man first sinned..

Genesis 3
The Fall of Man
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You must not eat from any tree in the garden'?"
2 The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, 'You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.' "

4 "You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. 5 "For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. 7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.

8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"

10 He answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid."

11 And he said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?"

12 The man said, "The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it."

13 Then the LORD God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?"
The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate."

14 So the LORD God said to the serpent, "Because you have done this,
"Cursed are you above all the livestock
and all the wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.

15 And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring [a] and hers;
he will crush [b] your head,
and you will strike his heel."

16 To the woman he said,
"I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing;
with pain you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you."

17 To Adam he said, "Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,'
"Cursed is the ground because of you;
through painful toil you will eat of it
all the days of your life.

18 It will produce thorns and thistles for you,
and you will eat the plants of the field.

19 By the sweat of your brow
you will eat your food
until you return to the ground,
since from it you were taken;
for dust you are
and to dust you will return."

20 Adam [c] named his wife Eve, [d] because she would become the mother of all the living.

21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, "The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever." 23 So the LORD God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side [e] of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

"But even in that moment of separation in the garden, there was hope, as God the eternal Lover took the initiative to restore the estranged couple to fellowship. By means of a sacrifice, He tenderly, lovingly clothed them in the skins of animals and set in motion the events whereby man might ultimately be reunited with Him. And all the time, God never stopped loving, communicating, seeking, and initiating. Just as He never stops loving and seeking you and me." -taken from our journey May 27 Nancy Leigh DeMoss

Isn't that so true? So what should our response be? Every time we sin, think about how God feels, and how much He loves us to even pursue us back. God doesn't need us, He WANTS us. Thus, let us all work towards loving this King of mercy even more each day. Afterall, God our Creator desires our fellowship.

Take my life

I'm back. Been quite busy recently. And it's all about SCHOOL. Just looking ahead, advanced accounting presentation on tues, next week is MID SEMS. It's too fast, and modules are really much harder in 3rd yr =(

I have a 2 weeks break after tat, but wait, it's time for us to chiong projs :S oh wells, just hope it doesn't suck all the energy out of me. I'm putting on slightly abit more of weight, but it's too slow. yes Ling I'll admit defeat here. you win. lol.

Church camp is coming, I'm not going. I really want to see how people will react during that time. Younger ppl rising up to take their place, and learning what it means to be broken and used by God.

China got hit by a 5.8 aftermath a few hrs ago. Yes, in sichuan again. People need the Lord, greatly. What are we doing with our lives now that can be called worthy of Him? Alot of u guys are having holidays nw, srsly take time to think how u can be used more by God.

Been thinking about quite alot of stuff lately, and I just want to get back to being a better listener to God, and being more obedient. What is YOUR desire?

Happy Anniversary, Happy Birthday!

It's been an eventful past few days, learning new stuff to doing old stuff =) On thurs went to TK's dad's provision shop to get stuff to sell for CCN day, learning hw much snacks actually cost and how OVERPRICED other ppl sell them, especially 7-eleven and cheers. Convenience at a cost! Brought the stuff back to sch and helped abit with the decors for the stall. Cf was interesting, doing nehemiah and realised how 1 song which my dad likes actually is related to it!

Fri was reali tiring. Selling the snacks and nasi lemak were reali tough, with so little business for the snacks. Really surprised we managed to raise so much money though a few hrs of work, not to mention the nasi lemak was like almost 4 hrs late?!?! But it was rather intruguing to see wat ppl can come up with to sell. Had dinner with sherry, kris and tk after tat, and i felt to handicapped... coz they were all talking chinese so fast! haha. The problem is that i understand (almost) everything they say, but i can't speak so fluently =( Just pondering on tat jus makes me wonder how great God is, tat He can use someone like me to bless ppl in china.
Had leaders mtg, then went prawning after SO LONG! Me, my bro and stanley shared 1 rod and it was pretty fun, as chances are more precious. Caught BIG prawns as they released more due to a reali crowded pond. By the time i slpt it was 5+..

Bay bbq on sat! Me yvonne and sherman were the welcoming team =) pasted paper which had letters B, A, Y on ourselves, which made it reali hard for us to bend. I was wearing A, Yvonne was wearing Y, sherman was the odd one out, wearing B. If ur name is angel tan de ying, u most prob don noe wat so special abt it. So here goes again, Yvonne was wearing Y; Abel was wearing A; Sherman was wearing B, not S. Food was good, liked the chicken fillet esp!

Sunday! Went prawning again! haha, this time with sherman, bencheok, cheryl included with fri's nite ppl. Caught abt 70-80, not too bad i guess. Prawns were smaller, and they released the bigger ones when we left. Eating so much prawns for the past 2 days makes me reali happy =)

Yesterday (17 May) was my parent's anniversary and samantha's bday! These are their smiley faces =) =) =)
just realised tat this was taken in yr 1 (2 yrs ago) and she looks abit different now! Must be the hair la... height about the same.. =p

Tmr's vesak day. Not tat it makes difference to me since I have no school on mondays. I must start mugging since its 2 wks to exams. Pls pray for discipline and wisdom. Thanks!

This is the song which I was talking abt earlier...

Read psalms 137 and 19:14. If got time, start reading nehemiah too.

有一位神

I've been rather moodless to blog lately.. Maybe due from the lack of sleep or just plain laziness. So just to update what's been going on in my life! Let's start with last thursday, with an amazing testimony shared during cf. The way how God prepared cf that day was simply marvellous. The songs sang was just how He wanted it to be. I could tell people went away with their lives impacted; I know mine was. First time having a lecturer sitting in did not stop God from working, us from worshipping.

Friday FINALLY managed to lunch with my psychology group! It was fun seeing everyone back together again =) Then at night went to hwa chong choir's concert to support Cherie! A good performance to me, even as someone who doesn't really know how to appreciate these kinda stuff... haha. Had overnight mahjong at my place, bankrupted darryl and dom! After such a long while of not spending time with my 'ho peng yu', a great sense of satisfaction I felt. Why talking like Yoda am I? Dom switched with bencheok halfway and started to play raving rabbits on wii. And guess what, at ard 5am in the morn, dom got HIGH on wii. When he left my house, his hands were trembling la! Crazy guy. Saturday had a few people over (targetted mainly at china trippers) to play wii. They had trg at my place at nite so yup.

Sunday nite caught the Man U game at cheryl's place! Champions! Haha can't wait for Champions League Final, too bad barcelona is out =(

Monday went for physio at Alexandra Hospital, had a machine help stretch my back, which left me feeling pretty weird. Haha. Caught Iron Man at nite with a few of church peeps. I really liked the show, though no super chio bu (according to samantha). Superhero movies anytime =)
Decided to be a good boy and go home after the movie to do work instead of Kel's house. Raylia was entertaining me all the way!! I'm sure your understand why la yea..

Tutorials this week are killers. Can't imagine myself doing this every week. There's Campus Care Network (CCN) day on friday, making me stay back till late when school ends at 1 zzz. Selling nasi lemak and snacks? Hope we can raise at least a substantial amount of money.

Heard about the earthquake that hit China yet? I'm sure you had unless your name is Angel Tan De Ying (just kidding). I've been really thinking alot about it, about how people I know are affected by it, and how I can help. I love China, especially seeing what God has in store for them when I went over to Liannan last dec. I seriously wanna go back again.

Meanwhile, here's my psychology group project if you haven seen it before... Realised that it's missing the song at certain parts, but it doesn't really matter.. haha.

and here's the "theme song" for cf last thurs... Sadly no images though...

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

helloooies! Anyone having monday blues? Not me... haha. well well Bay's having 2 wks exam break! Finally a breather after soooo long. Spent fri nite with Jabez and YX at chomp, then headed to Jabez's new hse in gardens area. I like touring people's hses! His hse is quite huge, and his room is really nice! Happy colours all over.. haha. Watched a movie and chilled abit before leaving for home. Talked to YX on the way back some stuff about the spiritual realm, and I hope that it made an impression on him to find out more about it, and eventually about Christ. It's been real tough on him recently so I pray he can find the purpose in life soon.

Saturday managed to play mahjong... NOT. Brought entire set to kel's hse (which is REALLY heavy) but ended up not having enough ppl, so everyone played wii instead! I had a good time and really think the games are quite fun! Had dinner opposite kel's place, it's a new western place which took over botak jones. Food was not too bad, but not tat great though. Went to Chang Loong's place for atba after that! His baby was so cute, running ard during BS, and being fascinated by popcorn. We did 1 Cor 8 abt food offered to idols, and it was really fast... haha.

Combined worship on sunday, then CAP. Nowadays, a cell leader's role has widened. Apparantly it includes being a punching bag too, right gaby? Haha that poor girl has been so stressed recently. Hmm after that went home to crash.

No school today rmb? I plan to be hardworking and finish my tutorials by today. Keyword = plan. Oh well let's see how it goes.

Happy Birthday Kel!

What a busy week with crazy tutorials it has been! My answers are like half of the other people's ones... Not to mention they are like... all smarter than me :S well well, gotta study much harder from now on!

Tues nite was spent with a few church peeps at bugis, hanging out and getting kel's pressie. Well, technically only timo and dom went to buy while the rest of us were having dessert! haha but it was fun =)

Wed had 3 tutorials (it was CRAZY) and then went home to take a bath, before kel's bday dinner at cafe iguana! 10 of us were there, before heading to kel's hse to chill. Surprised him with his bday pressie which he wanted.... guitar hero! It isnt tat easy to play srsly! Haha but it was really funny seeing gavin and dom play wii. You HAVE to watch them compete against each other! Left ard 2+ and then I had supper with kel at jacksons eating porridge =) that's like my happy food..

Bought 2 christian books which I would spend time to read on... so less time facing the com i guess. I'm really hungry now and I want to play mahjong too. Ever since I have a mahjong table at home, I actually play it less and less. Wonder why...

Anyway, hope you had a good labour day and it's just one more day before it's the weekends again! Take care!
